GEORGE MCCLOY July 26, 1922 - September 27, 2009 Peacefully, on September 27, 2009, George passed away at Oakview Place. George will be lovingly remembered by his sons Michael (Ghislaine), Gary (Gloria); daughter Gail (Bob); grandchildren Tyler, Sean, Michelle, Matthew, Adam, Laura, Kristi, and Blair; great-grandchildren Sara, Natashia, Declan, Jacob, Kaitlan, Taylor, Sidney, Emma, and Gensen. He will also be missed by Mildred as well as other extended family and friends. George was predeceased by his wife Pat in 2005, and son-in-law Gerry in 1998. George worked for CJOB from 1946, which included Bomber commentary and the Shut Ins every Sunday. He enjoyed golf, football, and spending time at the cottage at Victoria Beach with family and friends. George was very well liked; his humour and quick wit will be missed. A memorial service will be held on Thursday October 1, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations for George may be made to Manitoba Heart Stroke Foundation, Suite 200-6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6 or Alzheimer Society of Winnipeg, Unit 10-120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 4G2.
