IRENE MONTSION (nee CORBEL) On September 30, 2009 Irene Montsion, beloved wife of Romeo, passed away at the age of 75. Remaining to cherish her memory is Romeo, her husband of 55 years, her children Garry (Linda), Rachel (Eldon Parkinson), Darlene (Larry Boitson), Gail Owczarek and Richard (Mona). Irene leaves behind her grandchildren Jason (Ashley), Desiree, Rebecca, Paul, Thomaz, Evan, and Ethan. Irene was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Alphonsine and her younger siblings Marge Friske, Sally Delaurier and Tony. Irene was born and raised in Ste. Amelie, MB. Romeo and Irene worked in Winnipeg until 1960, farmed in Ochre River until 1973 and then moved to Grande Pointe. Irene enjoyed hosting corn roasts and cherished large family dinners. Gardening, entertaining and travelling were her passions. Travel destinations included the Caribbean, Mexico, South America, Hawaii and Australia. Especially treasured was the family vacation in Acapulco. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life service will be held, Saturday October 3, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. at Wheeler Funeral Chapel, 211 Regent Ave West. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Care.
