MICHAEL SHEWCHUK Peacefully on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at St. Boniface Hospital, Mike Shewchuk, of Winnipeg, beloved husband of Nel (Zanewich) passed away at the age of 85 years. Besides his beloved wife Nel, he leaves to mourn his sudden passing his two sisters, Mary (Borden) Landy, and Jean Schnerch, brother Stanley (Edna), sister-in-law Rose Shewchuk and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Mike was predeceased by his parents Anton and Jessie Shewchuk, two brothers Walter and Adam, two sisters Anne and Lena, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Mike was born in Arnes, Manitoba May 15, 1924. Mike worked in bush camps, at Manitoba Telephone System and St. Boniface Hospital. In his early years he helped his parents on the family farm. He liked to go fishing, hunting, gardening and bowling. Mike always enjoyed going to visit his relatives in Gimli and Arnes area. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. Interment will follow at Glen Eden in the Garden of the Old Rugged Cross.
