NORMAN WALTER HONER It is with great sadness we announce the passing of a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle and friend, Norman Walter Honer, on September 29, 2009 at the age of 84 years. Norm will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Doreen and his children, Norman, Joy (Wes) Brisson, Darryl (Susan), and Cindy (Joel) Mazur. Norm will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Jolene (Dave), Steven (Brett), Jerrica, Janelle, Scott, Evan, Shayla, Rebecca, and Joshua, also his great-grandchildren Connor and Cayden; by his in-laws, Arvella, Peggy, Derrick, Philip (Margaret), Joyce, his special niece Sandra, and many nieces and nephews. Norm was predeceased by his parents, John and Eva, siblings, Phyllis (Dick) Drescher, Ted (Eva), and John (Irene), and Kendel family in-laws, Philip, Amalia, Davina, and Doug. Norm was born in Winnipeg on September 26, 1925, and resided all his life in Elmwood. He retired from Bristol Aerospace in 1991 after 40 rewarding years. He was a lifetime member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and enjoyed many years as a dedicated member of the choir, where he will always be remembered for his love of music and beautiful voice. Norm was known for his creativity and always had a new invention on the go in his basement workshop. There was nothing he couldn't fix or improve on. He also loved the outdoors, spending many hours in his yard tending to his garden, his bird feeders, and teaching all his kids about nature. Norm was known for his generosity, wonderful sense of humour, and his compassionate caring nature. He adored his wife, Doreen, and lovingly cared for all his family and friends. Norm will be greatly missed by all who knew him. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at 10:30 a.m., at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 708 McCalman Ave, with Rev. Richard Kruesel officiating. Special thanks to the staff at St. Boniface Hospital, especially to 4E Ward, for all the exceptional care and kindness provided to Norm the past several months. If desired, donations in Norm's memory can be made to the St. Boniface Hospital and Research Foundation, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or to the Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Love You
