JOHN (JOHNNY BEAN) JAMES JOSEPH SANDERS It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of John (Johnny Bean) James Joseph Sanders of Great Falls, MB, on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at Pine Falls Hospital. He will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife of 42 years, Rose; his children, Cheryl, Brenda (Lawrence), John (Lindy), Kathleen (Brian) and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. John is also remembered by his brothers Melvin, Alec, Cecil, Walter, Pat, and his sisters, Margaret and Shirley. He was predeceased by his parents, Lillian and Wilfred Sanders, sister Elizabeth, and brother Sheldon. John was born on January 2, 1940, on the Fisher River Reserve. Always curious, John was well-read and self educated, often describing himself as a 'Jack of all trades, master of none'. His various occupations included diamond drilling on the north coast of British Columbia, to being the 'town barber' in Great Falls, Manitoba. When presented with a problem, John always took it on as a challenge, continually surprising his family with inventions - that always worked! John also enjoyed being outdoors as he was an avid hunter and fisherman, he picked countless buckets of berries and in turn, enjoyed countless pieces of pie! John spent many hours entertaining his family and friends with stories, anecdotes, and personal experiences. We will never forget his lessons. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the Great Falls Community Hall at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 5, 2009. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
