He will be greatly missed by his wife of 63 years, Margaret; children, Ken (Elizabeth), Peggy (George), Brenda (Omer), Russ (Sussanah), Dan Jr. (Wendy), Thomas (Dallas); several nieces and nephews; 17 grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren; sister June Asher; brothers, Alvin (Shirley) and Jack plus many dear friends. Dan was born in Durban, Manitoba and spent his childhood years on the family homestead. At the age of 18, the family moved to Winnipeg where he was employed by Canada Packers, after which he joined the Military for two years. It was during that time that he met the love of his life, Margaret Plomp. In April of 1946, they were married. During their life together, they raised two daughters and four sons. In 1950, he started D. M. Knight Delivery Service, providing services to Western Grocers, Addressograph Multigraph and Pratts Wholesale. He retired in 1996. Dan was a man of great integrity, who was loved by everyone he came in contact with. He was outgoing in nature, and made friends everywhere he went. One of his biggest attributes was that of peacemaker. During his 59 years of dedicated service at Grant Memorial Baptist Church, he served as Trustee, Sunday School Treasurer, Deacon for several terms and church greeter. Dan's life outside of his work was devoted to his family and his church family. He loved camping, visiting, and in later years, travelling. A Celebration of his Life will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2009 at Grant Memorial Baptist Church, 877 Wilkes Avenue with Pastor Tom Castor and Pastor Glenn Miller officiating. Interment will follow at St. Vital Cemetery. A huge thank you to the Concordia ICU for their excellent care. Thank you to all who have prayed and supported us through this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Imagine a Place c/o Grant Memorial Baptist Church for the expansion of Grant Memorial Church and Linden Christian School Campuses. 843 Sherbrook Street, 774-7474 Condolences: www.bardal.ca

My thoughts and prayers are with Tom and Dallas. Mrs. (Karen) Knight's friend Linda was my specialist when I was taking psychology in grade 12. Tom used to do respite with me after meeting at Camp Manitou many years ago and we have since stayed in touch. - Posted by: Philip (Friend of Tom Dallas) on: Nov 12, 2021

My thoughts and prayers are with the former Department Head of Counselling at the school where her friend Linda worked with me. - Posted by: Philip (Knows Mrs. Knight's family very well) on: Nov 11, 2021
