It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our beloved Husband, loving Father and Grandfather George Kent, on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at River Park Gardens Personal Care Home. Remaining to forever cherish George's memory are his beloved wife Mary of 58 years of marriage and family, Rosemarie (Marshall), Bernard (Diane), Marianne (Randy), Andrew (Kathy) and Paul (Heather). He was extremely proud of his grandchildren Adam, Pamela, Matthew, Christina, Teresa, Alicia, Bradley, Stephanie, Jason, Curtis and Kyle. Also left to cherish his memory is his sister, Bernice Reilly of Saskatoon; brothers and sisters-in-law Anton and Cordy, Frank and Pat and Chris and Frances as well as many nieces and nephews. George was born July 16, 1925 in Wnniipeg, the son of the late George and Ethel Kuntz. He was married to Mary Thomaschewski on August 4, 1951. He obtained his degree as a Chartered Accountant in 1960 and had a long career with Nelson River Construction. George greatly enjoyed being a ham radio operator and building his own ham radio. His call sign was VE4YM. He was an avid 10 pin bowler and golfer throughout his life. Over the years, he and Mom travelled extensively throughout the United States and to Germany. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 5, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in the St. Vital Roman Catholic Church, 1629 Pembina Highway at Manahan Avenue, with Rev. Fr. Barry Schoonbaert, presiding. Interment will follow in the St. Vital Roman Catholic Parish Cemetery. For those who wish, viewing will be held prior to Mass. Pallbearers will be George's grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Maurice School, 1629 Pembina Highway, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3T 2G6 or a charity of your choice. .-- . .-.. --- ...- . -.-- --- ..- .-.-.-
