Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVIOLA CINQ-MARS (DECOSSE) September 29, 1930 - October 3, 2009 On Saturday, October 3, 2009, Viola Cinq-Mars, aged 79 years, beloved wife of Archie Cinq-Mars of Lac du Bonnet, MB, passed away at the Pinawa Hospital. There will never be another wife, mother, grandma, sister or friend like Viola Cinq-Mars (Decosse). Her trademark kind and gentle spirit guided her throughout her life touching all that came anywhere close to her. Born in Somerset, Manitoba, a beautiful young lady met Archie Cinq-Mars and they were married, for 58 years. Living in Somerset, Winnipeg, Grand Rapids and then retiring in Lac du Bonnet their home was filled with children, friends, and of course Vi's fabulous cooking. Vi and Archie were avid travellers to such destinations as Mexico, Cuba, Rome, Israel, Hawaii, USA, Africa, Portugal, Costa Rica, from one coast of Canada to the other and of course Vi's cherished trips to Vegas. After having her six children Vi went to work at the Grand Rapids Esso and then with Manitoba Hydro where she was known as mom to all the guys there. Vi's garden was always the best and she amazed us with how she could work in the garden all day and still have the energy to bake, pickle/can and entertain. We especially enjoyed the last five months of our mother's life when many family and friends gathered around her and heard her talk, something she rarely did before being diagnosed with cancer. Missing her already are her children Norma, Rheal (Norma), Brian (Karen), Brenda (Doug), Marie (Eldon), Lisa (Cliff), her grandchildren, Brigette (Pat), Robin (Tara), Lise (Pax), Kerrie (Mark), Amber (Ryan), Dylan (Marjanna), Devron (Lisa), Tiffany (Evan), Dustin and her very special great-grandchildren Brady and Ella. Vi had a very strong faith in the Lord and will join her parents and siblings that have gone before her, leaving behind Emil (Mary), Rennie (Diane) and Cecile (Bill). We would like to send special thanks to the Pinawa Hospital staff, especially Myrna, who helped us through our confusion and tears. The best hospital staff one could ever imagine. Funeral services will be held at the Lac du Bonnet Roman Catholic Parish on Wednesday, October 9th at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations to Diabetes Research can be made through Team Diabetes under Kerrie Holm from Stonewall.
