SHIRLEY RAMONA PASSEY (nee SLEMMON) June 26, 1935 October 2, 2009 After a long brave battle, surrounded by her loving family, mom's life came to a peaceful end. Mom will be greatly missed by her four daughters, Sheryl Taylor, Laurie Johnson (Greg), Sandy Laramee (Andy), Patti Tower (Len), grandchildren, Tim, Ryan (Laurie), Erin, Kaylee, Robyn, Jason and Josh (aka Preston) and great-grandchildren, James and Elizabeth. Shirley is also survived by her brother Doug (Diane), sisters, Laura-Jean and Laurie, many nieces, nephews, special Aunt Vera, the Passey family, good friends Pat Bell, Dorothy Donald and their families. Predeceased by her beloved husband Jack, mother Irene, father Gordon, brother in-law Ed, sister-in-law Marlene and many other loving family members. Shirley had a long career with Barber-Ellis Fine Papers where she met and made many friends. Shirley left the paper business for the baking business. Together with Jack they became original successful franchise owners of Mmmarvelous Mmmuffins Eaton's Place and St. Vital Centre. Mom and Jack spent many wonderful years at their cottage in the Big Whiteshell with their children and grandchildren. Mom's support and love for her children and grandchildren was immeasurable. You could always count on her. Her grandkids are grateful to Nana for always being their biggest fan at their sporting events. Some of Nana's favorite moments were spent playing cards and games with her grandchildren. A special thanks from Patti for never giving up on her. We could never be more proud and in awe of mom's courage and strength. Twenty years ago mom was diagnosed with brain cancer (Astrocytoma). Over the years she fought the cancer twice and won the battle. In the end she succumbed to other illnesses. Special thanks to all the staff and doctors in SICU and IICU at Health Sciences Centre for their care of mom. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, P.O. Box 2248, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 4A6. As per mom's request there will be no service held, cremation has taken place. Forever Stan and Ollie Yahtzee!!! Chapel Lawn 885-9715
