CONNIE JEAN MILLER (SCOTT) 1941 - 2009 Connie lost her battle with cancer on Sunday, October 4, 2009. Connie was predeceased by her daughter Barbara Jean in 1995, her parents William Sr. in 1998 and Sabina in 2009, and her father-in-law Linus in 2006. To remember her, is her husband of 43 years Hans, her sons Richard (Holly), and David (Natalie), and her grandchildren Kyia and Sienna. She will also be remembered by her brothers Keith, Bill (Linda) and Doug (Allison). Of course her many friends in Pinawa, Lac du Bonnet and Kenora will always share pleasant memories of her life. Connie was born in Chapple Township in Northwestern Ontario and moved to Keewatin, Ontario early in her life. Here she trained as a hairdresser, a job she loved and did until her children were born. She married Hans on October 8, 1966 and moved with him to Thunder Bay, Ontario and then to Pembroke, Ontario before settling in Pinawa in 1973 to raise their three children, Barbara, Richard and David. With that job well on its way to success, she received her Child-Care Level 2 from Red River College in Winnipeg and worked at the Pinawa Day-Care for 15 years where she used her wisdom and skills to provide love and care for many of Pinawa's children. She was actively involved with the Agassiz Garden Club and spent many hours nurturing her garden of flowers in the back yard of her home. Even during her struggles with cancer, her garden received her love and care. A memorial service will be held at the Pinawa Lutheran Church officiated by Rev. Rob Murray at 1:00 p.m. on October 8, 2009. Honorary pallbearers are Cheryl Ryan, Sandra Knight, Margaret Moore, Ann-Marie Contini, Mildred Juhnke and Sharon Biddescombe. Instead of flowers, a donation to Cancer Care Manitoba or a charity of choice will be appreciated.
