ADELINE MARIE DZENDZELUK (nee KOWALCHUK) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Adeline Marie Dzendzeluk on October 4th, 2009 at St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care, after a valiant battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband Michael, son Michael (Valerie and children Diana, Laura and Daniel), son Steve, daughter Linda (Roger and daughter Rachel), brother Jerry (Jean) and sister Shirley (Ron). She is also survived by two great grandchildren Drew and Aly. Adeline was predeceased by her parents Ann and Michael Kowalchuk. Adeline was born in Winnipeg and grew up in the city's North End. Growing up, she enjoyed reading, going to the movies and loved playing music, dancing and laughing. She was a very social, outgoing and loving person. In 1952 she met Michael and they were married in 1953. She devoted her life to caring for her husband and their three children. Adeline was a selfless person, always generous and put the needs of family ahead of her own. She loved getting together with family and friends and hosted many holiday gatherings. She will always be remembered for her kindness and generosity. Adeline loved going to their cabin and enjoyed many weekends with her husband and Linda's family. She also had a great love of animals and was a supporter of many animal organizations and charities. She loved her dog Smokey and most recently, her cat Whiskey, whom she rescued from their cabin. A Funeral Service will be held at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul on Thursday, October 8th, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow. The family would like to thank everyone who was involved in the treatment and care of Adeline, including Dr. Kerr at Cancer Care Manitoba. A special thank you must be given to the amazing staff at the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Boniface Palliative Care would be greatly appreciated.
