GARNET DAVID FUNK It is with great sorrow, that our father and friend Garnet David Funk passed away, Sunday October 4, 2009, before morning's early light at the age of 69. Garnet was predeceased by his mother Helen and his father Abe Funk of Melita, MB, his loving wife Joan Marilyn of Winnipeg and niece Shaunda Fosty of Brandon MB. Garnet was survived by his two sons Jim Schuler (Louise Ruppell) of Ste. Anne, MB, Kevin Funk (Gloria Prince) of Medicine Hat, AB; sister Deanna (Allan Fosty) of Virden, MB; brothers Ken and Jim Funk of Melita, MB and nieces Kim (Jeff McAuley) and Angie (Jason Whittle). Garnet's loving long time friend Elsie Kosc of Winnipeg, MB, also many other relatives and close friends. Our family would like to express heartfelt thanks to Mark Shepherd and the Home Care Team. We would also like to thank the Grace Hospice for the love, compassion and tranquility that surrounded us when we entered their doors. We felt blessed to have our dad stay with you, the care and respect you have shown our family is deeply appreciated. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society or Cancer Care Manitoba. Viewing will be held Friday, October 9, 2009 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Funeral service will be held Saturday, October 10, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. with viewing one-half hour prior to service also at Chapel Lawn.
