LUCINA LEGRAS (nee MAILHIOT) Peacefully and surrounded by family, at Foyer Notre Dame, on Sunday, October 4, 2009, Mrs. Lucina Le Gras, previously of St. Claude, Manitoba passed away at the age of 79 years. Lucina is survived by her loving family: children, Lorraine (Howard) Coumont; Ronald (Betty); Evelyn (Lloyd) Laing; Nicole (Eric) Champagne; and Jacqueline (Tattoo) Badiou; grandchildren, Cheryl (Denning), Chad (Denise), Allison (Matt), Chris (Courtney), Jason (Sarah), Troy (Michelle), Angie, Raquel, Patrick (Stacy), Stephanie, Anique and Chelyne; great-grandchildren, Scott and Cailyn; brothers, Alcide (Helen), Andre, Lionel (Janet), and Victor; sisters Emilda, Marie Rose (Steve), Evelyn (Don), Matilda (Leonard); brothers and sisters-in-law, Rose, Gerard, Henriette (Gabriel), Therese, Rolande, Elizabeth, Nicolas (Rita), Fernand (Colette), Susan and André (Ilse); and many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Lucina was predeceased by her husband, Henri; daughter Annette; parents, Oscar and Alice Mailhiot; brothers, Lucien, Albert, Adrien; sister Florida; mother and father-in-law, Emile and Marie-Louise Le Gras (née Philippot) and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law. Lucina was born on May 6, 1930 in Cantal, SK. She married Henri LeGras on October 1, 1949 and together they raised their family of six children in St. Claude, MB. Lucina enjoyed her years working as a nurses aide at the St. Claude Hospital. When she was younger she enjoyed playing baseball, broomball and curling. In her later years she spent her time babysitting grandchildren, playing cards, gambling and doing word search puzzles. She enjoyed visits from her children and grandkids and always had revels ready in the freezer and cans of coke in the fridge. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff at Foyer Notre Dame for their excellent care of Mom for the past few years. Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father Marcel Carrière in the St. Claude Catholic Church on Thursday, October 8, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Family interment to follow in the St. Claude Parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Claude Wellness Centre. Adam's Funeral Home of Notre Dame de Lourdes, Manitoba in care of arrangements.
