JAMES ALEXANDER TAYLOR With great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Jim (Jimmy) on October 5, 2009 at the age of sixty-eight. He is survived by his loving wife Elsie and her children: Gerald, Murray (Jane, Johnathan and David), Karen (Dave, Coralee and Brian) and Derril (Kelly, Andra, Alexa and Jaxon); sister Shirley (John and children); and brother Robert (Willma and daughters). He loved being a stepdad and especially Grandpa to the seven grandkids. He was predeceased by his parents Rose and James and his brother Larry. Jim was born in Winnipeg and lived his entire life here. He was a career salesman - selling milk, pop, chips, tools and most recently self employed as a travelling salesman selling gloves, souvenirs and novelties throughout Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Northwest Ontario. Jim was the entertainer of the family, always ready to tell a joke or a funny story. He was a bit of a workaholic, always telling us that he would retire in two years (even though we had been hearing this for the past 10 years). He loved being on the road, travelling and looking forward to meeting his next customer. He had the ability to make friends with everyone he met. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 9 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler at Henderson Hwy. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in his memory.

  • Jim always entertained everyone at Trade Shows and had many friends across Western Canada. He always maintained that he had "dibs" on my British Columbia sales territory. He will be missed. Paul MacDonald Nanaimo BC - Posted by: PAUL MACDONALD (Co-Worker) on: Oct 08, 2009
