ANNA WARAKSA Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister Anna Waraksa passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2009 in Teulon. She leaves to cherish her memory daughter Jennie Irwin (Lorne), son Richard (Donna); grandchildren, Wayne, Debra Gilson (Scott), David (Cheryl) and Susan; great-grandchildren Alaina, Evan, Andrew, Britney and Craig; brother John Kosc (Mary) and sister Veronica Motoska. She will be welcomed to her last home by husband Konnie, brother Micheal Kosc, sisters, Mary Varga, Elonka Bean and Martha Saltel. Anna was born May 28, 1920 in Malysulin, Czechoslovakia. She came to Canada in 1931 with her Mom, brother John and sisters, Mary and Veronica to join their father in Tilley, a small town in Alberta that he had scouted out prior to sending for the family. Mom enjoyed the Catholic Women's League, Country Community Club, her gardening and her flowers. In 1962 Mom and Dad moved to the Lundar area. They established Vestfold Ranch. In 1975 they received the Lawson Sons trophy for the Best Farm Home Grounds. In 1988 they moved to Teulon, built their house and yard, and once again received the trophy for the best yard and garden. She joined the Catholic Ladies Group, Teulon Auxiliary and Women's Institute. She enjoyed baking and crocheting and still had her flowers until 2004 when she moved into Gateway Manor. The family would like to express our sincere thanks to the staff of Gateway Manor, Teulon Hospital and MacKenzie's for your care and compassion. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Vianney Roman Catholic Church in Teulon. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Teulon in care of arrangements.
