Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJESSIE ERICKSON November 1, 1914 - October 8, 2009 The families of Jessie Erickson are saddened to announce her passing just 23 days shy of her 95th birthday at the Concordia Hospital. All her life, Jessie was an active lady, enjoying a variety of activities. She belonged to Rebecca's W.I.; loved her sports and was an avid curler in her younger years. She watched games on T.V. especially the Blue Jays in baseball. Jessie ran the staff house in Old Pinawa for sometime in the 1940s. When the site closed down in 1951; she and her family moved to Great Falls. Here she worked for the Hudson Bay Co. for several years. After Axel retired; they moved up to Lee River where they lived until moving to Transcona in 1981. Jessie liked to keep busy and enjoyed socializing with her friends. She was born in Estevan, Saskatchewan and moved to Winnipeg with her family when she was a young girl. Remaining to forever cherish Jessie's memory are her two sons, Nelson (Vi ) and their children, Beryl (Willie), Grant (Diane), Donna (Chuck), Debbie (Tim) and Derek and son, Gary (Helen) and their children, Richard (Tammy), Lee (Dani); 13 great-grandchildren, Tia, Zack, Dustin, Mathew, Brittany, Brent, Brian, Dillan, Brady, Tyler, Chantel, Jessica and Austin; as well as a good friend Carol Vouclair. She was predeceased by her husband Axel in 1986, her very good friend Sandy, her mother, father, mother-in-law and father-in-law, brother John and sisters, May, Doris and Evelyne. Jessie's funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 2:00 p.m., in the Park Manor Personal Care Home, 301 Redonda Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Our family would like to express our sincere and special thanks to the staff at the Concordia Hospital; Home care workers from East Park Lodge; Lesia and Taryn S.S.G.L coordinators from Park Manor P.C.H.; Also to her good friend Charles Toop for all his assistance.
