ORLA DARLINE WILSON (nee HURD) Peacefully on Thursday, August 27, 2009, Orla passed away at Health Sciences Centre at the age of 84. Orla was the beloved mother of James and Orpha, and was predeceased by her sons Ronald and Allan (Sandra), and her brother Leslie (Ethel). She was born in Winnipeg on September 2, 1924 and lived her whole life here. Her main focus in life was her family, her nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild. She was a longtime member of the zoological society, and enjoyed her visits to the zoo despite the loss of sight which struck her at the age of 72. Sincere thanks to the staffs of Health Sciences Centre and St. Boniface Hospital for the care that was provided over the summer. A joint memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. James Legion, 1755 Portage Ave. (upstairs) for Orla and her son Allan who passed away in Calgary in June 23, 2009.
