SALLY MAY YASKIW At midnight on October 7, 2009 our precious daughter, mother and sister departed to be with the Lord. She struggled bravely and valiantly to raise her two children and watch them grow. Sally loved, lived and triumphed. We are very proud of her love and compassion for others, despite her secret ongoing battle with leukemia and unbearable illness. Sally missed her recently departed father Rick dearly, and prayed to the Lord every day. We all miss her dearly. Sally has departed her children, Brayden Alexander and Sadie May, and former husband Kyle and the Dewald family; mother Mary Ellen; sister Stella; brother Gregory; great-aunt Rose; Godparents, Darcy Yaskiw and Connie Lazaruk will miss her dearly. The Yaskiw cousins, Susan, Stephen, Kelly, Nolan and Ferrin. The Yaskiw aunts and uncles, Ron and wife Patricia, Bob and wife Lynne, Jake and wife Colleen. The Morrison family, uncle Robert and cousin Angela. The McKay family, uncle Scott and aunt Valerie Jean. Thank you to friends, Darren Ocherek, Crystal Pownall, Tammy Dyck, Sheldon Rausch, Jim McWilliams, Tara, Karen, Melany, Mandy, and Henry Belfore and Donna Kravetz. A special thank you to Father Peter Chorney. Sally of 31 years, had the strength to endure a mountain climb. She was taken from us well before her time. She kept her suffering a secret from family and friends, always living life to the fullest. Sally's main joy in life was singing with her children and passing on the joy of music. Sally had the voice of an angel. She always welcomed family and friends with a warm meal and a big hug. She cooked like a chef. Sally was a very humble soul. Everyone who ever crossed her path would never forget her. Sally's unique upbeat personality was one of a kind. Her love was un-relentless. Her faith in the Lord was unconditional. Funeral service will be held Wednesday October 14, 2009 1:00 p.m. at Gimli Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church. Interment will be held at St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church Cemetery, south west of Gimli on Willow Creek Road.
