VICTOR J. BILLSON November 23, 1919 - October 5, 2009 It is with heartfelt sorrow that the family of Victor Billson announces his peaceful passing on October 5, 2009 at the Brummitt-Feasby A.L.S. House, Winnipeg, MB. He was predeceased by sisters Ruth McCormack, Margaret Strand, brother Harold and grandson Whitney. Victor will be forever remembered and sadly missed by the loves of his life, devoted and loving wife of 56 years Elizabeth, sons, Kim (Lucy), Bradford (Joanne) and grandchildren, Stasha, Harlan and Griffin. Victor is survived by sister Kay Lundgren as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Dad was born in Inwood, MB and worked on the family farm. He enlisted in the Merchant Navy during the Second World War. During his time of service he journeyed to numerous parts of the world, always returning home to visit. Victor met his best friend and the love of his life Elizabeth. Their love and friendship endured for 56 years of marriage. Together they raised their family and leave a legacy of fond memories with their children and grandchildren. Dad was employed with Winnipeg Transit for nearly 30 years and retired in 1983. During Dad's retirement, he and mom were able to travel to Hawaii, California, Texas and Arizona, sharing good health and happiness. Dad found great joy with mom watching their three grandchildren grow. Dad, your love of life, sense of humour and an always active and curious mind will sadly be missed. The family is grateful to Dr. Bourke, Dr. Casey and the A.L.S. Team at the Deer Lodge Hospital, Ruth Keep RNBN, Sue Erikson RNBN, Diana Rasmussen RNBN and the caring staff at the hospice home. The family wishes to thank family and friends for their enduring love and support during Victor's struggle with A.L.S. over the past 10 months and at our time of loss. Dad's life will be celebrated on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Service will commence at 10:00 a.m. and will be officiated by Rev. Jack Risk, followed by interment and reception. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the A.L.S. Society of Manitoba or a charity of your choice. Forever in our hearts. Rest in peace.
