Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWALTER JAMES PETERSON February 19, 1917 - October 3, 2009 One month and one day before his 70th wedding anniversary, with family by his side, Walter passed away peacefully at Seven Oaks Hospital. He will be greatly missed by his wife Betty, children Jim (Jan), Peggy, Shirley (Bruce), Harold (Marilyn) and grandson Jeff, as well as numerous relatives and friends. Walter was born in Narol, Manitoba, the eldest of 12 children. He and Betty resided in East St. Paul for most of their married life. Walter was a dedicated family man, passionate gardener, successful businessman, avid outdoorsman and world traveler. He will be remembered by all who knew him for his generosity and sense of humour. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the home care workers who provided exceptional care for Dad during his last years at home. Walter requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to purchase toys for sick children. Donations may be sent to: The Children's Hospital Foundation of Manitoba, Child Life Department (for toys) CE501-840 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB, R3A 1S1. Cremation has taken place.
