ANNIE (NANCY) WALKER Mom passed away peacefully at the Victoria Hospital on October 11, 2009. She was 92 years old. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Bert, her son-in-law, Mel Scott, her sister, Bec, brother, Tom, as well as her Walker in-laws. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Jeanette (the late Mel), Shirley (Mel), and Bettie (Dave), her beloved grandsons, Brendan, Jonathon, Jason, Christopher, and Trevor, her sisters-in-law, Winnie Brough and Alyce Maruca, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mom was born in Scarborough but spent most of her life in Winnipeg. She was a long time employee of Eatons where she worked in the jewelry department. Mom's first love was her family. She was always there for us through the laughter and the tears. She had a great sense of humour which was still evident even in the hospital. We will hold her memory in our hearts forever. A special thanks is extended to the great team of homecare workers who helped care for mom over the last few years, especially Anna, Mila, Beth and Karen, as well as the wonderfully caring nurses and health care workers at the hospital (4 north). Friends may pay their respects to the family at Desjardins Funeral Chapel on Friday, October 16, starting at 12:00 p.m. with the funeral at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow.
