KATHARINA (KATIE) MARIE REMUS Peacefully, on Wednesday, October 14, 2009, Katie passed away at Tuxedo Villa at the age of 96. Katie was predeceased by her husband, Robert in 1998. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Marilyn (Don) and son Calvin (Gail); her grandchildren, Shannon (Peter), Sharlene (Perry), Lorelei (Russ), Jason (Lana) and great- grandchildren, Amanda, Cassie, Curtis, Kyle, Kaia, Brody and Jessica. Katie was born in Scholtoi, Bessarabia, Romania, December 1, 1912 and came to Canada with her parents in 1913. The family lived in various areas of Saskatchewan, finally settling in Marchwell. In 1935, she married Robert and they spent 63 happy years together. Since 1965, she has lived in Winnipeg. Katie always enjoyed entertaining family and friends, playing cards, baking and doing puzzles. She will be remembered for her kind and gentle nature and her courageous spirit in difficult times. Special thanks to the staff of Tuxedo Villa for their care and support over the past two years. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 637 Buckingham Rd.
