FREIDA ELSIE MAUTHE (WUTZKE)

Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFREIDA ELSIE MAUTHE (nee WUTZKE) Peacefully on Sunday, October 11, 2009 Freida passed away with her family by her side. Freida was born on January 4, 1919 at Waldersee, Manitoba. She was the last surviving member of Edward and Amelia Wutzke who moved to Waldersee in 1909. She is survived by her children, Lorraine, Ted (Phyl), Norma, Jeanette (Ted), Donna (Keith), Lynn (Bert), Ronald (Jocelyn), Debra (Chuck), Becky (Greg), Rene and Tamara; fifteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Martha Wutzke, Kay Nelson and Lynn Cotton; brother-in-law John (Adeline) Mauthe and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Reinhold; daughter Evelyn; son-in-law Mike Sanders; parents; three brothers and five sisters. Mom was involved in the community in many capacities 4-H Leader, Director of Plumas Agriculture Society, Lutheran Ladies Aid and Lutheran Church Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed bowling, bingo, crocheting, knitting, quilting, ceramics and crafting. She was a good provider, hard worker and devoted mother to all her children. Her homemade baking and goodies were a special treat for her grandchildren. She was a great provider of homemade pickles, preserves, jams, jellies, cabbage rolls and perogies. In her later years, Mom enjoyed retirement on the farm, gardening and growing flowers prior to her move to Village View Lodge in Plumas where she enjoyed the company and social activities with the other residents until her move to Third Crossing Manor in Gladstone. The family would like to express our thanks and appreciation to the staff of Third Crossing Manor for the excellent care and attention that Mom received while residing there. Special thanks also to Viola Rempel, Edna Single, Laura Frechette and Lorraine McCurray for all their kindness and attention toward Mom. Funeral Service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church in Waldersee, Manitoba on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Leon Gilbertson officiating. Interment will follow in the Waldersee Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dillon Beck, Michael Sanders, Kelly Mauthe, Laura Crickett, Ryley Mauthe, Joy Mauthe, Tyler Beck, Erin Crickett and Garth Harris. All friends are considered Honourary Pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mother's name to the Christ Lutheran Church EWL in Waldersee or to Big Grass Community Foundation Inc, Plumas Fund.
