EDMUND HORST KUHR November 6, 1943 - October 10, 2009 Sadly and quickly, we lost Dad, Eddie' or Ed. He passed away quickly with the stoicism that he exhibited in life, at the age of 66 in his home in Winnipeg. Dad will be remembered and loved forever by his children, Katharine (Jason) Hasz, Tyler and Kirsten Kuhr; his grandchildren, Keanna and Bodey Hasz; his brothers, Emil (Ursula) Kuhr, Albert (Dzdra) Kuras, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and ex-in-laws. Eddie was predeceased by his son, Paul Stephen Channing Boisclair and his sister and brother-in-law Irene and Emil Naujoks. Edmund was born in Lithuania, the youngest of four children, and spent his early years in a refugee camp in Germany. When his family immigrated to Winnipeg, he was eager to learn, work hard and to be a Canadian. He attended University of Manitoba and pursued a career as a proficient math, science and computer science teacher for 30 years in the Seven Oaks School Division. Along with coaching high school sports, he enjoyed handball, curling, baseball and teaching his children (and family). With solid beliefs, he was politically involved in the schools and became president of the Seven Oaks Teachers' Association From an early home and marriage to Joyce Matheson in Rivercrest, to a second family with Connie Kocay, in the Maples, Dad was always projecting and remodeling. With skills in plumbing, electrical and building, his bus camper will be remembered by many. Ed's most recent years were spent at the Hebrew Sick Benefit Association, where he was well appreciated for his willingness to help those less able, and referred to almost any setting as a classroom'. He enjoyed his young children Tyler and Kirsten, and filled his time with biking, gardening and cooking. Dad knew his time was short, and was quick to say so but many of us forgot to say WE LOVE YOU!!! Thank you for everything you taught us, your spirit and lessons will be with us forever. There will be a brief celebration of Eddie' on Sunday, October 18 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the H.S.B.A at 1001 Sinclair Ave., Winnipeg. Please make any donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200-6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 FEISTY TIL THE END!
