Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGORDON SEYMOUR WOODFIELD 1926 - 2009 With great sadness we announce Gord's passing on October 6, 2009 in Nanaimo, BC after a lengthy illness. Gord was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 60 years Allene; children, Graig Woodfield, Lenore Konrad (Randy); grandchildren, Lauren and Jordan; several nieces and nephews and many dear friends who will always remember his great sense of humour and his love of life. Gord was born and raised in Winnipeg and attended Luxton School and St. John's High School. Dad's career included Sherwin Williams, CPR and Wire Rope Industries with whom in 1980 he and Mom were transferred to Nanaimo. Dad retired in 1991 and enjoyed 15 years of active retirement before becoming ill. Dad's greatest pleasures in life came from spending time with family and friends at their summer home at Star Lake in Manitoba where Dad loved to share a rum and coke. He was an incredible father and grandfather whose greatest source of pride and joy were his two grandchildren who knew him as Papa Woody . In keeping with Dad's wishes cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will take place on Saturday, October 17 at 2:00 p.m. at the Terraces Club House at 6300 Rhedonda Place in Nanaimo. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dad's memory to the Nanaimo Travellers Lodge, 1298 Nelson St., Nanaimo B.C. or a charity of your choice. Dad, we will hold your memory in our hearts forever
