WELSFORD KEITH WILSON PARSONS 1933 - 2009 Peacefully and surrounded by family on October 11, 2009, Keith passed away at Riverview Health Centre. Keith leaves to cherish his memory his beloved and devoted wife Freida, loving children Shaughna (Kelly), Dawn-Ella, Pam (Jim), and stepson Chad. Adoring grandchildren Leighsha, Kendra, Spenser, and Giordana - They were his pride and joy. Survived by sisters Lillian, Karen (Eugene), Corinne and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Wesley and Elizabeth, brothers Roger, Edward, Ralph, Ivan, Leonard, sisters Viola and Enid. Welsford Keith Wilson Parsons was born April 12, 1933 in Lucasville, Nova Scotia, the ninth child of Wesley and Elizabeth Parsons. He moved to Winnipeg in his late teens where he worked as a porter for the CNR Railway for 10 years. Found employment at Simpson Transfer Feed Storage where he worked for 41 years retiring October 31, 1997. Throughout the years, Keith had a very active life with many organizations. He was a 33rd degree Mason and Past Master of Regent Lodge #5, became a member of Consistory and finally the Shrine with Fezzan Court #7, all of Prince Hall Grand Chapter, Minnesota and its jurisdictions. After many years with these organizations, he became a member of River East and Riverside Lions Club of Winnipeg respectively. Besides his love of Jazz and Blues music, Keith enjoyed driving his spotless 1968 Dodge Monaco convertible or riding his motorcycle. He spent a lot of time, tinkering in the garage on old vehicles. He loved having a good time, a good laugh and a cold one . Although the light in your eyes has extinguished we will cherish you in our hearts forever. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the loving care provided by the AB1 Staff at Riverview Health Centre. Cremation has taken place, in compliance with Keith's wishes; there will be no funeral service. A private interment and celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined; donations may be made in Keith's name to Alzheimer Society of MB, 10-120 Donald St. Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2, Cancer Care Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6, or Riverview Health Centre Foundation, 1 Morley Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3L 2P4.
