JOAN CATHERINE IMPEY August 25, 1930 - October 7, 2009 Peacefully, in the morning of October 7, 2009 at the Riverview Health Centre, Joan passed away at the age of 79 years. She will be forever loved and remembered by her brothers, Jim (Joan), Allan (Rose); her beloved nieces, nephews and their spouses, Dennis (Linda), Patrice (David), Jacqueline (Rob), Deanne (Richard), Mitch (Alyson), Susan (Doug), Michael, Raymond, Greg (Gayle), Glenn and Brian who were her world. Also, she will be sorrowfully missed by her many grand-nieces and nephews who regarded her as another grandparent. Joan was predeceased by her parents, Catherine and Carleton, her elder brother Donald and sister-in-law Estelle. Joan was born in Calgary, AB and moved with her family to Winnipeg in 1936. Joan was employed with CP Rail for many years. Throughout her life she enjoyed art, travel and literature. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 19, Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., (south of the Royal Canadian Mint). A private interment will be held at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens in the family plot. The family wishes to sincerely thank the staff of Riverview Health Centre for their compassion and care of Joan.
