YVONNE HELEN MEAD October 8, 1932 - October 14, 2009 It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Yvonne on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at the Grace Hospital after a courageous battle with Leukemia. Remaining to forever cherish Yvonne's memory are her sisters, Lila, Marguerite Craig; nieces, Jocelyn (Glenn), Nancy- Lynn, Lorene (Russ), Marni (Todd) and Sherri; nephews, Bruce, Darryl and Wayne and numerous great-nieces and nephews. Yvonne was predeceased by her father Richard; mother Catherine; brothers, Richard, Charlie and Donnie; sisters-in-law, Nancy and Dorothy; and brothers-in-law, Leo and Tom. Born in Winnipeg, Yvonne lived all her life here. She attended Cecil Rhodes School and worked for many years for the Goodwill Industries. Yvonne's funeral service will be held on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street at Manitoba Avenue. A reception will follow in Wojcik's Reception Centre. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the home care workers for their care of Yvonne this past year, as well as to Maria on the 5th floor of the Grace Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3.
