RODNEY KENNETH KLAPKA December 18, 1948 October 13, 2009 It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Husband, Dad and Grandpa, Rodney Klapka at the age of 60. He leaves to mourn his wife of 39 years Susan; two children Allison (Darren) and Matthew (Sherry); four grandchildren Emily, Evan, Stephan and Danika; sisters Darlene, Agnes (Stu), Donna (Guy), numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. Rod lived with his family in Ridgeville, MB where he grew up and took over the family farm. He was always there to help anyone when called upon and his community was a very important part of his life. You could always count on Rod to be there. He loved to kick up his heels doing the Polka at socials, he attended countless crib tournaments and would rarely miss coffee time at the club. Rod was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2000 and had to give up his love of farming and moved to Selkirk, MB in 2001. Rod stayed active and loved fishing in Hecla with his friend Randy Helgason until the MS would no longer allow him to continue. Service arrangements will be announced at a later date. We would like to thank Dr. Fuchs, the nurses and staff at Selkirk General Hospital for their care and kindness.
