JEAN HILDUR DAGG (LINDBACK) October 16, 1917 - October 14, 2009 After a brief illness, Mum passed away peacefully with her family at her side. The eldest child of Swedish pioneers, Mum grew up in Chatfield, MB, where one of her earliest memories was the sound of sleighbells on a cold winter night. Dad and Mum were married in Winnipeg and they spent most of their married life in our South Transcona family home. For the last ten years Mum lived comfortably and independently in her own apartment. She was predeceased by her husband Roy, her sister Mildred and her grandson Joey. Misty, her Sheltie gave her years of company and happy memories. Cherishing her memory are her sisters, Ruth and Mabel and brother Allan; children, Wayne (Isabel), Diane and Ann, Sandra, Charles (Nanci) and Les (Heidi), nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Although her work experience was varied and included being a housemaid, clerk, waitress and Second World War welder, Mum's years spent working in the fabric departments of The Bay and Woolco were her favourite. As a creative and meticulous seamstress it was there that she showed her flair for colour, fabric and fashion. Her family has always raved about her cooking and we still claim her apple pie was the best ever!! Our thanks go to Grace, Len and the staff at Niakwa Park Plaza, the Home Care workers, the W.F.P.S. and the Victoria Hospital staff who cared for Mum. Wayne, Charles and Les want to thank Diane and Sandra for all their extra special care of Mum. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Breast Cancer Centre of Hope, 691 Wolseley Ave., Winnipeg MB, R3G 1C3, or the charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 19 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson In The Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. THOMSON IN THE PARK 925-1120 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsoninthepark.com

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • So sorry about your Mum. It is difficult no matter what, even when we know she lived a long and happy life. You can take comfort in knowing she had five children who loved her so well. We should all be so blessed. Times like this remind us of what is important in our lives and family and friends are what it is all about. Our thoughts are with you , even though we can't be. Much love. Dan, Jennifer, Colin and Duncan - Posted by: Jennifer Graham (Friend) on: Oct 18, 2009
