HAROLD A. HUPPE, B.A., LLB, Q.C. September 9, 1923 - October 10, 2009 After a short illness, we are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Harold at Victoria General Hospital on Saturday October 10 at the age of 86. He is deeply loved and will be sadly missed by his wife of 62 years, Bette. Also by his sister Bea, daughter Eleanor, daughter Anita and husband Dave, son Allan and wife Jackie. Grandchildren - Andrew (and wife Tina), Jennifer, Erin, Hannah, Winston, Jacob and Amanda. Harold lived life to the fullest. His warm, bright smile exuded his friendly, caring nature. He served mankind in many capacities giving of himself. Harold was fortunate to have his dear Mother, Jennie Huppe, in his life until he was 69. His Mother's teachings of love and faith in the good Lord above were his strength and guiding light. Harold met his wife Bette at the tender age of 15. They both attended Hugh John MacDonald and Daniel MacIntyre Collegiate and enjoyed these wonderful school years together. Harold joined the Navy in September 1942 and returned in 1945 safe and sound. Sadly, Harold's twin brother Allan was killed overseas in May, 1944 serving as an Air Gunner in the Air Force. Harold and Bette were married in May of 1947 and spent the next nine years studying to become a Lawyer while Bette worked at the City of Winnipeg Health Department. Harold ran his own Law practice for 40 years and was awarded his Q.C. designation in 1981. Harold was very active in the Khartum Shrine and enjoyed playing in the Drum and Bugle Corps. He made many wonderful friends through the Shrine and was an active participant in the good work of the Shrine. Harold joined the Reh-Fit Centre on its opening 30 years ago and was an avid participant. He worked out at the Reh-Fit with a passion and made many wonderful friends. We wish to thank the Reh-Fit Centre for their kind support of Harold during his stay at Victoria General Hospital. Somewhere the Sun is Shining You are in that beautiful place now. God Bless You Harold. We all love you and miss you. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 23 at Neil Bardal Inc., 3030 Notre Dame Avenue, across from Brookside Cemetery. NEIL BARDAL INC. 204-949-2200 nbardal.mb.ca
