Date of Passing: Oct 16, 2009
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET ELLEN WILSON It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Ellen Wilson at the age of 92 years on October 16, 2009 in the Poseidon Care Centre with her daughter-in-law Hilary, by her side. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Edward (Karen) and Ian (Hilary), brother Grant (Mabel), niece Valerie, nephew David and grand-nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Ronald (Ronny). Prior to leaving Winnipeg for Beaconsfield, Quebec - due to her husband's job relocation in 1965 - she worked at Eaton's in Grill Room products, part-time in Eaton's mail order department and the Federal Government Employment Insurance office. In Beaconsfield Margaret joined the Quebec Stitchery Guild and some of her work hangs in Bearepare United Church. She also began porcelain painting. On return to Winnipeg in 1991 she joined the Manitoba Porcelain Artists and did some beautiful work in that medium that her family continues to enjoy. Margaret was an active member of the Rebekah Lodge for over 70 years until age forced her to lessen her activities with that group. Margaret enjoyed her activities, life and friends and many happy times were spent at the cottage at Grand Beach with family and friends. She raised two strong, smart boys and even taught them how to find their way around a kitchen. They will miss her very much. Funeral services will be held at Klassen Funeral Home, 1897 Henderson Hwy. on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow in Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Siloam Mission, 300 Princess St., Winnipeg, Manitoba R3B 1M3.
