Born: Dec 28, 1917
Date of Passing: Oct 15, 2009
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN ALBERT ABRAHAM December 28, 1917 - October 15, 2009 Gone fishin' and at peace at last, Jack was predeceased by his devoted wife of 60 years, Alma Marie, and his infant daughter, Allison. He is survived by his loving daughters, Leslie Carignan and Tannis Grugel, grandchildren Lisa (Jean Paul), Monique (Thomas), and David (Vanessa), and great-grandchildren, Max and Louise, and Sebastien and Raphaela. Born in Carlyle, Saskatchewan where he was an avid hockey player, Jack moved to Winnipeg and became a master woodworker and carpenter. He worked for many years for Bird's Construction, and spent many wonderful holidays travelling with Alma throughout North America. Retirement years spent in Vancouver were sweet, because there he indulged his passion for fishing. His family and friends have enjoyed many a delicious salmon meal thanks to his prowess. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all the wonderful staff on 3 East at the Riverview Hospital who never failed to make us feel like family in his last days. A memorial service will be held at Thomson In the Park , 1291 McGillivray Blvd. on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Donations may be made in his name to the Canadian Cancer Society. THOMSON IN THE PARK 925-1120 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsoninthepark.com

Dear Leslie, Tannis, Lisa, Monique and David Your Father and Grandfather was a very long time friend and it was a relationship that I valued. I so enjoyed dinners with your Mom and Dad and Grandparents and was the recipient of many salmon dinners after they moved to B.C. I am sad that he is gone but happy he had such a long life. I have the same wish for all of you. I will be at Mass on Saturday at the same time as your Memorial Service. I will be praying for all of you. - Posted by: Beverly Hinds (Friend) on: Oct 23, 2009
