Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryH. CLAUDE REID March 10, 1914 October 19, 2009 Claude passed away peacefully in his 95th year on Monday, October 19, 2009. He leaves to mourn his beloved wife Georgina of 66 years, son Dale (Sandra), grandsons Roger (Virginia) and Mark; brother Rae (Gertie) and niece Janice (Jack) of Brandon, niece Marlene (Tom) Carson of Leduc, AB and great nieces and nephews and cousins in Manitoba, Ontario and British Columbia. Claude was born at Isabella, MB. He spent his youth on the farm. In 1938 he began working for CNR travelling and working at many stations. Claude retired from Symington in 1974. He was involved with sports baseball, hockey, curling and golf. Claude was inducted into the Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame in 1998, having played for the Carberry Royals in 1946. He curled at Fort Rouge Curling Club and golf was special for him. Claude served in various positions within the M.C.A. He was very involved with the Mentally Handicapped Curlers Association. As well, he was always willing to give a helping hand whenever there was a need. He loved working in his vegetable garden and enjoyed sharing his produce with friends and family. Special thanks for the care Claude received from the staff at Pembina Place Mennonite Personal Care Home. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 22 at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Pastor Ehlers officiating. Flowers gratefully declined.
