Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJIM SMOLINSKI It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear Husband, Father and Grandpa, Jim Smolinski. Peacefully in his sleep, with his wife present, he passed away on October 19, 2009 after a courageous battle with a heart condition. Jim was born on March 5, 1945 and was the youngest son of Marion and Kathryn Smolinski. On October 5, 1968 he married the love of his life, Elaine, and together for 41 years they created a home and raised their family. Jim will be sadly missed by Elaine and his children Kim (Orbey), Randall (Josée), and Janet (Will). His grandchildren Steven, Brittany and Kara, and his step-grandchildren Kyle and Alicia, had a very special bond with their grandpa and they are blessed with precious memories of him. Everyone was always welcome into his home and no one ever left hungry. Jim will also be missed by his mother-in-law Ann Glowach, sisters Vicki and Lovey, sisters-in-law Millie (Karl), Nettie (John), and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Marion and Kathryn, his brothers Paul and Steve, and sisters Phyllis and Rosie and of course his beloved and faithful dog, Lady. Everyone who knew Dad knew how much he loved to work. When he was a young boy of 12 years old, he was already tinkering around with tools and had a passion for woodworking. His favourite past time was playing his Fiddle for his family and friends and spending time with Mom. They loved to go together for long car rides, spend many hours working together in their beautiful yard and garden and they enjoyed playing cards together. Dad's life revolved around Mom because he was always thinking of her. Every time he went to Winnipeg he returned with something for her. Dad always said that he will die a very content man because he had the best wife and kids a man could hope for. He loved them all so dearly. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Jim's life on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Phillips Roman Catholic Church in Arborg, Manitoba. All are welcome to attend. We would like to thank Dr. Shenouda, and Dr. Beaukes for looking after our Dad for so many years. We would also like to thank Dr. Zeroth and Estrellita Estrella-Holder from the St. Boniface Heart Failure Clinic and the St. Boniface Pacemaker Clinic for looking after Dad for many years. We would like to give a special thank you to all of the staff at the Arborg and District Health Centre and EMS crew, Homecare workers Georgina, Jo-Ann, Bev, Rose, Janet and Jillian. All friends and family should consider themselves as honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim's memory can be made to the St. Boniface Hospital Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Shorncliffe cemetery. Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Home in care of arrangements
