Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRODNEY DARRYL WALKER May 20, 1987 - October 20, 2009 It is with great sadness and sorrow we announce the sudden passing of our dear son Rodney. He leaves to mourn his soul mate Heather and his precious son Jayce; parents Jenine and Darryl; sisters Alana (Doug), Jennifer; brothers Kevin (Shirley), Jordan, Rylee, and Jared (Aggy); great-grandpa Harold Scramstad, grandparents Gertrude Walker, Valerie and Norman Grove, Peggy and Larry Scramstad; in-laws, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews from the Scramstad, Walker and Pruden families and many good friends. He was predeceased by his grandpa Bert Walker, great-grandma Eleanor Scramstad, great-grandparents Douglas and Vina Pruden, uncles Edward, Dougie and Kenny, cousins Desiree and Edgar. His greatest joy came from his son Jayce. He graduated grade 12 and worked at Tembec Paper Mill before moving to Selkirk to further his education. At a young age Rodney started playing hockey and played from time to time as an adult with friends. He loved to spend time with his family and friends fishing. He loved his guitar which you could find him playing often. He also enjoyed writing music and making up songs about his family and friends. If he didn't have a guitar handy, he would have an air guitar ready to go. Rod showed his love in numerous ways. Through his smile which went from ear to ear. His laughter will forever be ringing in our hearts. He loved to be the funny guy in the room, the protector, joker and friend. The things we feel so deeply Are the hardest things to say But we loved you In a very special way They say that memories are golden Well that may be true But, we never wanted memories We only wanted you. If tears could build a stairway And heartaches make a lane We'd walk the path to heaven And bring you home again. Our chain is broken And nothing seems the same But as God calls us one by one The chain will link again. A celebration of his life will be held at Gilbart's Funeral Home on Friday, October 23, 2009 (today) at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 2:00 p.m in The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church 6088 Highway 9A, Selkirk, Manitoba. Pallbearers will be Kevin Walker, Jordan Walker, Jared Walker, Doug Pronteau, Danny Walker, Aaroyn Walker, Daniel Cook, and Brian Wise. In Lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations can be made in trust for his son Jayce Walker at the RBC Royal Bank, Pine Falls, MB. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.

God looked around the garden, and found an empty space. He looked down upon the earth, and saw your tired face. He put His arms around you, and lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful for He only takes the best. He knew that you were weary, and He knew you were in pain. He knew that you would never be well on earth again. He saw the roads were getting rough, and the hills were hard to climb. So He closed your weary eyelids, and whispered peace be thine. Luv u big cuz, u will always be remembered and loved <3 - Posted by: Taylor Jean (Little cousin) on: Dec 03, 2013
