Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIONA ANNIE WIEBE (LOEWEN) On October 21, 2009, Iona Wiebe passed away after a courageous battle with leukemia. She is predeceased by her husband Jake and parents Edward and Nettie Loewen. She is survived by her children and their families, Wendell (Lori), Cal (Linda), Chester (Charlene), Ivan (Heather) and her grandchildren, Jordan, Mitchell, Lauren, Nickolas, Aliyah and Aidan; her sisters, Ginny (Gord Voth), Ruth ( John Friesen) and brother Ted Loewen (Janet) along with numerous nieces and nephews. Iona was born in Ernfold, Saskatchewan on July 25, 1937. She met Jake Wiebe at Herbert Bible School and they were married at Flowing Well, Sask. on August 3, 1957. She was always actively involved in church, working in Pioneer Girls, College and Career, volunteering in the church library, and singing in the choir. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and working in the City of Winnipeg River Heights Library. Memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Fort Garry Mennonite Brethren Church, 1771 Pembina Hwy. Private interment prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jake and Iona Wiebe Memorial Fund, Bethany College, Box 160, Hepburn, SK S0K 1Z0.
