MICHAEL JOHN ROGERSON 1941 - 2009 On October 23, 2009 Michael John Rogerson passed away peacefully with his family at his side. Michael was born in England on December 13, 1941 to Irene and Peter Rogerson. In 1964 Michael came to Canada and settled in Winnipeg beginning his career at The National Trust Company. Michael met his wife Carol who he married in 1966 and together they raised two children, William and Alix. Michael was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Margaret. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Carol, son Bill, daughter Alix and his grandchildren Jose, Maddie, William and lsabell. He is survived by his sister Christine Christopherson in Wales and by his niece and nephews in England and Wales. Michael's passion in life was his career in the financial world, the last several years of which were with Great-West Life. He was also a huge lover of jazz and as a result, many fun Monday nights were spent at the Hang where we listened to and watched the Jazz students develop their style and confidence. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be remembered for his unconditional love and encouragement to us all. Michael lived the last years of his life with amazing grace and dignity and he will be profoundly missed. The family wishes to thank all their friends, together with Dr. Dhalliwahl of CancerCare, Linda Mackellar and the staff of Palliative Care at St. Boniface Hospital for all their wonderful support during this very difficult journey. A special thank you to Heather Weins for all your behind the scenes work. All these people put the humanity back in a sadly lacking system. In lieu of flowers, donations may be make to the Palliative Center at St. Boniface Hospital, or to Siloam Mission, the Empty Bowls fund. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
