ANNE BAZIUK 1933 - 2009 It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear wife and mother, Anne Baziuk on Friday, October 23, 2009 at the age of 76 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband John, sons Ron (Maureen), Gary (Gina) and daughter Cheryl, sister Mary, grandchildren Tara (Aaron), Jas, Christopher, Courtney and Lucas, great-grandchildren Anna and Jayden. Anne also leaves to mourn her passing many other family and friends. Anne was predeceased by her parents Nick and Florence Woroniuk, and infant sister Olga. Anne was born in Arbakka, Manitoba on May 24, 1933 and lived in Sundown, MB until moving to Winnipeg to work. Anne was married to John Baziuk on July 31, 1954 and shared 55 wonderful years. One of her great joys was to prepare family feasts with all the Ukrainian specialties. No one ever left her home hungry or without a care package. She also spent many hours tending her vegetable garden which every year she claimed was going to be smaller, but never was. Her family will greatly miss all the wonderful produce, particularly the sour pickles. Anne was an accomplished seamstress and meticulously made Ukrainian Dance costumes for Tara. Family was very important to Anne and she enjoyed attending their activities and celebrating their accomplishments whether it be sports, dancing, music, whatever they were involved in. In her last days, a special thank you and acknowledgement to her granddaughter Courtney and her friend Nathan for staying through the night. Courtney was insistent that Baba never be alone. The family sincerely appreciates the efforts of the Paramedic Service and the extraordinary care at the St. Boniface Hospital in Emergency, MICU and Palliative Care. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Heart Stroke Association of Manitoba, The St. Boniface Hospital Research Foundation or a charity of your choice. Prayers and viewing will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday October 27, 2009 at Green Acres Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at Green Acres Funeral Home. The ones we love don't go away They walk beside us everyday.
