Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMILDRED ORPHA REDHEAD Peacefully on October 26, 2009 Mildred Orpha Redhead went Home to be with her Lord and Saviour at the age of 98. She had been a resident of the Eastview Personal Care Home in Altona, Manitoba. Mildred was born on December 18, 1910 in Oxbow, Saskatchewan to Walter and Orpha (nee Bellamy) Workman, the youngest of five children. At the age of nine, she accepted the Lord as her Saviour, and lived the rest of her life for Him. On July 18, 1932 she married George W. Redhead of Regina, Saskatchewan. To this marriage was born two children: Helen A. and George Daniel Redhead. In 1974 Mildred and George moved to Altona, Manitoba, to be closer to their son and his family. Mildred was always known to be very hospitable. She enjoyed baking and trying new recipes. She was also a Sunday School teacher for some years. She enjoyed handwork and her family has been the recipient of many afghans and crocheted and knitted articles. Mildred is survived by her daughter Helen Klassen of Vancouver, Washington and her son George Daniel Redhead (Joyce) of Altona; and by a special niece Ruth Bourquin of Estevan, Saskatchewan. She is also survived by five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Her husband George passed away in 1981. She was predeceased by her sisters: Velma, Laura, Florence, and her brother James Workman, and by a grandson. A Memorial service for Mildred will be held Friday, October 30, 2009, 2:00 p.m. at the Altona Senior Centre in Altona, Manitoba. Interment will take place prior to the service in Chapel Lawn Cemetery, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Arrangements entrusted to: WIEBE FUNERAL HOME (ALTONA) LTD. 204-324-5404
