MARY COMPAYRE (nee OLSON) It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Compayre, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Mary died on Monday, October 26, 2009 at Seven Oaks Hospital in Winnipeg at the age of 88. She leaves to mourn her daughter Leslie; sons, Tony (Lorraine), Dennis (Jo-Anne), and Lorne (Heather); grandchildren, Kelsey, Joseph, Murray, Lonnie, Jacqui, Julie, David, Chris, Mandy, William, and Nigel; sister Regina; numerous extended family; and many, many, many friends. A heart of gold stopped beating, Hard working hands went to rest. God took you home to prove to us, He only takes the best. Heartaches in this world are many, But losing you was worse than any. It will be lonely here without you; We will miss you more each day, For life will not be the same for us, Since you have been called away. We will always remember the way you looked, The way you walked and smiled, All the things you did for us Will be with us all the while. You always did your best, Your heart was true and tender, You lived your life for those you loved, And those you loved will remember. Mary has been a bright spot in the lives of all who knew her. She never hesitated to give what she had to someone in need. Her house was a refuge, her fridge always full, her wit always present and her heart always open. Mary was born in Sandridge, MB and then moved to Churchill as a young woman. Later she retired in Winnipeg. She is predeceased by her husband Joe; parents, Rasmus and Ragnild Olson; sister Hanna; brothers, Knute, Ole, Jens, Richard, John, and Henry. • I knew Mary, Joseph and Leslie when they were living in Inuvik in the 80's. Leslie and I were good friends and I lived with them for a bit. Mary was so kind to me. What I remember was the close relationship between her and Leslie. - Posted by: Emma Elias (Friend) on: Jan 28, 2012
