FLORENCE KROEGER (nee BINYON) On October 27, 2009 Mom passed away peacefully, with family at her side, at Betel Home in Selkirk. She was predeceased by her husband Paul. She leaves to mourn her daughters, Patricia (Peter) Togni, Diane (Doran) Reid and her son Kenneth Kroeger (Heather Reid). Florence was born July 18, 1917 in Winnipeg. Florence spent her school years in Eriksdale, Manitoba and was the only child of Henry and Bertha Binyon. Florence worked for two and a half years as a nurse's aid at the Eriksdale Hospital. She then moved to Selkirk to study Psychiatric Nursing at the Selkirk Mental Health Centre. She graduated in 1947 and retired from nursing in 1982. Her life was dedicated to her family and taking care of others. She enjoyed her retirement years travelling to many parts of the world with her husband. She especially loved to spend time with her family and her seven grandchildren, Luke, Anthony, Benedict, Victor, Eric, Kirsty and Kaelin. She took tremendous delight in their accomplishments. Family Sunday dinners, including her signature pies, were an after church tradition. Our mother made her way into the hearts of all those who cared for her. Her quick comebacks and lively wit will be missed. She lived by the motto, There's no point in being miserable . When she did say she was crabby, it didn't seem like she was. The family wishes to thank the staff at Selkirk Betel Home for their loving care and support. Grandma loved her people. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Florence may be made to either Selkirk Betel Home or the memorial fund at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. In keeping with Florence's wishes, cremation has taken place. Funeral service will take place on Friday, October 30 at 3:30 p.m. in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 6088 PTH 9A, Selkirk, Mb. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Remember to love one another for my sake Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
