ANNE MUZYCHUK On the evening of October 25, 2009, surrounded by her family, our dear Mum, Anne Muzychuk passed on gently and peacefully at Holy Family Home. In 2002 she was predeceased by Adam, her husband of 62 years, and is survived by her children, Diane Koreen (Richard), Terrance, Raymond (Valerie), and Evan (Susan Chodirker); her beloved grandchildren, Brendan Koreen (Lisa), Blythe Koreen, Mercedes Muzychuk (Victor Penner), Adam Muzychuk; her new great-granddaughter, Bella Penner; and her siblings, Maria Nygard, Teenie Morman, Elsie Wyspinski (Joe), Kathy Wilson, and Donald Hladun (Donna). Born June 8, 1921, Anne grew up in Fraserwood and Gimli and met Adam when he was teaching in Fraserwood. They married in August of 1940. A devoted, loving mother, she strove to share with her children the faith that was the guiding principle of her life and to instill values that would serve them all their lives. Anne filled many roles at church including singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School, serving in the women's auxiliary, and counseling at Camp Veselka. Anne enjoyed the outdoors, especially summers at the family cottage at Chalet Beach and a game of baseball. She loved learning - crafts, gardening, recorder lessons at the Manitoba Conservatory of Music and Arts, voice lessons, playing in a recorder ensemble, and continuing her education with courses at the University of Manitoba. She later took on employment outside the home at the post office, Eaton's, Joan of Arc Daycare, Orchid Florist, and as a teaching assistant in an elementary Ukrainian bilingual program. Throughout, her priority was her family. Prayers will be at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, November 1 and the funeral at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 2 at the Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral of St. Mary the Protectress, 820 Burrows Avenue at Sinclair, with Father Yaroslaw Buciora officiating. Flowers thankfully declined. In lieu of flowers, friends are invited to make a donation to the Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral of St. Mary the Protectress, 820 Burrows Avenue at Sinclair, Winnipeg, MB, R2X 0R2.
