SHIRLEY ANN NELSON (nee CARDEY) March 30, 1945 - October 28, 2009 After a very serious stroke on Sunday, October 25, 2009 Shirley peacefully passed away with her family by her side at St. Boniface General Hospital on October 28, 2009. She was predeceased by her parents William Thomas and Lois Anne Cardey. She will forever be missed by her husband of 46 years, Murray; her son Kevin (Gaetanne); daughters, Sherry (Doug), Tammy (Dwight), Kimberley (Todd); grandchildren Donavyn, Brandi, Daneka, Hope, Jennifer, Breann, Bradyn, Brooklyn, Jordan, Brittany, Danielle, Paul, Zachary and two great grandchildren. Shirley worked as a stay at home mom until all her children were in school, then worked for the Government of Canada until her retirement four years ago. She will be sadly missed by those she worked with as well as her family and friends. One of her greatest joys was wintering in South Padre Island, Texas. We wish to thank the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for all their care. In Shirley's memory, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, November 5 at 11:00 a.m. at Paroisse Ile Des Chenes Parish at 453 Main St., Ile Des Chenes, MB. followed by a luncheon at IDC Rec. Hall. A private burial will take place at Erinview Cemetery at a later date.
