FRASER ALEXANDER STEWART It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our father and grandfather on October 17, 2009 after suffering from pneumonia. Predeceasing Dad was Mom (Pearl) in 2005, his wife of 53 years, younger brother (Don) in 2006, brother (Cyril) in 1999, father (Hugh) in 1971 and his mother (Myrtle) in 1955. Remaining to cherish his memory are his loving son Dennis (Lorraine); grandchildren Melissa (Richard) and Jenn (Dan); sisters-in-law Ruby Stewart of Alberta, Gert Stewart of California and Edna Sadler of Saskatchewan; as well as nephews, nieces, cousins and friends both in Canada and the United States. Dad was born in Eston, Saskatchewan and served in the Air Force for 23 years. During Dad's time in the Forces, he was stationed in Claresholme Alberta, Saskatoon SK and Camp Borden Ontario before his final posting in Winnipeg. He then worked in the aerospace industry and finally retired from Bristol. Upon retirement, he and Mom began travelling south to Arizona where they were one of the Golden Vista Originals in Apache Junction. They both loved the southern States and spent their winters together in Arizona playing golf, cards and shuffle board, travelling and visiting with friends and neighbours A special thanks to the many caring staff at the Victoria Hospital - 5 south who made Dad's hospital stay as comfortable as possible. In fulfilling Dad's wishes, cremation has taken place . There will be no funeral service. His remains and Mom's are being flown one last time to Arizona for a celebration of life at their home in Golden Vista RV Resort before being returned to Winnipeg for interment together. Donations in Dad's name may be made to either the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
