EVA ONESCHUK (nee Lysak) 1910 2009 Peacefully and comfortably at East Gate Lodge Nursing Home in Beausejour, Eva Oneschuk passed away on Friday, October 30, 2009 at the age of 99. She was predeceased by her parents John and Christina Lysak; her sisters Mary, Annie, Ada, Tina and Jean; and her brothers Harry and John. She was born and raised in the Brokenhead area and married Bill Oneschuk in 1928. She and her husband ran a farm in the Ladywood area and raised two children, a son Wally and a daughter Bernice. They retired to Beausejour in 1972 and lived at 340 Park Avenue until her husband's death in 1986. She then moved to Armstrong Manor Seniors' Home and later, due to poor health, she was admitted to the hospital and eventually to East Gate Lodge Nursing Home where she resided until her death. She was also predeceased by her husband Bill; her daughter Bernice and son-in-law Jim Kazina; her son Wally; and grandson Bruce. She leaves to cherish her memory her great grandchildren Cameron and Kendra; her granddaughter-in-law Leslie; and her daughter-in-law Phyllis. Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 2 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sobering Funeral Chapel, Beausejour, with viewing prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church Parish Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her nephews Ken and Alexander Chernetsky, Harvey and Jack Lysak, Bob Marquis and Jerry Peluk. The family wishes to thank the caregivers at East Gate Lodge for their tender loving care and devotion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to East Gate Lodge.
