MICHAEL (MIKE) MUZIK 1926 - 2009 Mike passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at his home at Hillside Beach, Manitoba. Mike was born on August 20, 1926 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He received his education through the school system as well as on the streets of the North End of Winnipeg. He spent many years working for CP Rail and left there as a carman. He then joined his brother Bill working at Manitoba Sausage for a number of years before opening and operating his own meat and grocery store, M M Meats in St. Vital. Mike retired in the early 1980's and moved out to his cottage at Hillside Beach where he spent countless hours working on his vegetable and flower gardens. Mike passed away at the place where he most loved to spend his time, with his companion Suzy and his many friends at Hillside Beach. Mike was a member of the Canadian Armed Forces and was a longtime member of both the 141 Legion on Selkirk Ave. and the Transcona Legion and the Masons Transcona Lodge No. 123. Mike is survived by his three sons, Glenn, Ken (Barb Webb) and Elliott (Melanie Goetz); his brother Bill (Pauline); and many nieces, nephews and grandchildren who were his pride and joy. A service to celebrate his life will take place on Tuesday, November 3, at 1:30 p.m. at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. There will be an open microphone for those who wish to come forward and share their favourite memory of Mike. The sons would like to send a very special thank you to Roger and Debbie Griffiths of Hillside Beach as well as Mike's numerous friends at the Beach who treated him so well and who he so often spoke about.
