She married Joe on April 29, 1939 and together they farmed and raised seven children. The family was always Mom's first consideration and her caring and loving ways will forever be remembered. Mom was an ardent gardener and generously donated her abundant harvest of fresh vegetables to family and friends. Her happiest times were when her family and friends would come to visit. Baked goodies from her freezer would suddenly appear at the first sign of a visitor. To Mom, a good day was when there were visitors. After Dad's passing, Mom was able to live in her family home with the help of her son Edward, who was her main support when her health began to decline. Later, she moved to Tudor House in Selkirk in August, 2007 and subsequently to Gimli Betel Home in the spring of 2008. The family would sincerely like to thank all of the nurses and staff at Tudor House and Gimli Betel Home for their dedication and kindness in their care of Mom, who were like a second family to her. Also thanks to Dr. R.C. Patel for his medical assistance. Her strong faith, moral and ethical integrity helped her through many trials and tribulations throughout her entire life. We love you Mom, you have been an inspiration to us all. Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, November 4 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Michael's Church, Gimli with internment to follow in St. Benedict's Cemetery, Camp Morton. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Betel Home Foundation, Box 10, Gimli, MB R0C 1B0 or to a charity of your choice. Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli in care of arrangements.
