ROBERT BERKOWSKI (aka BOBBY B) It is with sad hearts we announce the passing of our beloved son and brother on Monday, October 26, 2009 in Vancouver, B.C. at the early age of 26 years. Remaining to forever cherish Robert's memory is his mother Lynn; his father Robert (Diane); Julie (Drew), Jackie, Ben (Sarah) and his loving nephews Dylan, Hayden, Brayden, Grady, Carson, Cole and niece Jordyn. Bobby was born November 16, 1982 in Winnipeg, Manitoba where he spent his time growing up. After graduating high school, Bobby made a life decision to join the Canadian Forces as a Fire Controls Tech. After spending four years in the military, he decided the world was too big to be sitting in one place and he retired from the military and moved to B.C. Once there, he pursued running a company building, designing and fabricating awnings and signs. Bobby was a person that had an artistic mind that would not rest. We was continuously inventing and building everything out of anything. From learning woodworking at a young age with his father, he would createlet's say the most interesting and unusual pieces of furniture that we had ever laid eyes on! He built poker tables that were cleverly disguised as your everyday coffee table but with a few maneuvers, voila, you had a poker table that somehow rose up and folded out. He was also known to invent electrical equipment that was not safe to most people. Even at the age of five, he would design a light switch that would turn the light off and on without having to get out of bed, all with some string and thumb tacks. Bobby, you are truly the most gifted and creative person we will ever encounter! Bobby was a person that could get along with anyone and everyone. His charm, charisma, wit and humour won the hearts of many. It gives us comfort to know that he had an amazing group of friends who I know he cherished and will miss him dearly. Those that knew Bobby best would say that he was a free spirit. Restless and eager for his next great adventure. As we mourn the loss of our beloved son and brother, we encourage all those people who he befriended and touched in some way to remember all the good times that were shared with Bobby as he goes to the next great adventure. Bobby's funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in The Bridge Church, 620 Oxbow Bend Road, Winnipeg, MB (located at the southwest corner of Portage Avenue and the W. Perimeter Hwy.). You will forever be in our hearts and souls BobbyBE FREE!

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • My cousin Bobby was always a fun loving, energetic person. Whenever I would come to visit my grandparents I would always want to see him and his brother. I loved spending time with both of them. Just me and the guys. Bobby would always take me for a slurpee around the corner, a cruise in my Papa's convertible, or challenge me to a game of shuffle board. The times we spent together will always be cherished. I miss you cousin. Love you always. - Posted by: Mike Sagriff (Cousin) on: Oct 23, 2013

  • My wife Brenda and I met Bob several years back through our son Jason. Bob shared many a meal with us, we barbecued together at our place and at his. Bob was an Ultimate Fight fan and we watched many an Ultimate Fight match at our place, his place or the local tavern. Bob was an outgoing, friendly, sensible young man who always had a smile and was always willing to sit down and visit with us when he and Jason dropped in. He will be missed by many. - Posted by: Gordon Quinn (Friend) on: Nov 05, 2009
