KAY URAS (nee SHUSHKEWICH) Peacefully on October 31, 2009 at age 94, Kay Uras, beloved mother, grandmother and great- grandmother passed away at the Health Sciences Centre. She is survived by her son, Don (Karen), her daughter Karen Koster (Bill), three grand- children, Gord (Cheryl), Margo (Cam) and Brad (Kristen) and four great-grandchildren, Dahri, Samantha, Brayden and Mason. She was born June 2, 1915 in Chatfield, MB. She was married June 30, 1939 and moved to Rouyn-Noranda in 1950. She returned to Winnipeg in 1963 following the death of her husband Fred. She was employed by CARA until her retirement in 1980. She loved her huge garden and visiting with her family. In her retirement years, she enjoyed her travels to Cuba, Hawaii and Palm Springs and Europe. She was predeceased by her husband Fred, parents Andrew and Katerina Shushkewich and her ten siblings. The family wishes to thank the staff on GH-4 and GD-5 at the Health Sciences Centre for their kind and compassionate care. In keeping with mom's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
